Design International (DI) is an award winning architectural firm with large scale projects worldwide and offices in London (main), Milan, Shanghai and Jakarta.

Rupert Jaeger joined Design International in September 2008, originally in a role combining (graphic) design with communications work. Over the following two years, he set up a dedicated communications department with a small team of designers and communications professionals.

In 2010, he was promoted to global Head of Communications, and as such was responsible for all internal and external Communications, Marketing and PR activities of the firm.

Under Rupert's leadership, the communications department was instrumental in helping to raise Design International's public image and firmly position it as one of the most innovative and successful players in the architecture and retail property world.

Campaign: Centerfalls, Designer Outlet Resort
Beirut, Lebanon; December 2012 - December 2013

Centerfalls is a Designer Outlet Resort currently under development in Metn, an upmarket area of Beirut, Lebanon. The project will be the first of its kind, offering a unique combination of luxury designer brand at outlet prices, as well as upmarket leisure and entertainment facilities.

Rupert Jaeger, as Head of Communications at Design International (DI), was responsible for the overall coordination of a B2B campaign to position Centerfalls as a desirable opportunity for luxury retailers and to generate leasing contracts for future tenants of the development.

As campaign leader, Rupert was liaising between the different stakeholders of the project to ensure the smooth running of the campaign, which included the development of a brand identity, marketing brochure, project website and project video. Rupert was also responsible for the official launch event, the related PR efforts and the successful submission of Centerfalls for a number of industry awards.

Campaign: Cleopatra Mall, Luxury Retail & Leisure Development
Cairo, Egypt; June 2010 - March 2012

Cleopatra Mall is a large mixed-use development currently under construction in Cairo, Egypt and set to open to the public in early 2017. The project will feature a mix of high-end & luxury retail, leisure and entertainment facilities, with an artificial outdoor lake and waterfall, surrounded by restaurants and bars.

To launch the leasing phase of the project in June 2010, a marketing campaign was run as a combined effort by Design International (Architecture) and its newly founded sister company DI Leasing (Luxury Leasing & Marketing), on behalf of the client, Cleopatra Group (Property Development).

Rupert Jaeger was responsible for the overall coordination of the campaign, with a particular focus on the comprehensive communication of all project related information to potential future tenants of Cleopatra Mall across all platforms. In addition, he was responsible for a series of successful award submissions for the Cleopatra Mall project.


Successful Award Submissions
2009 - 2015

Rupert Jaeger has extensive experience in submitting award entries for a variety of projects and clients. In particular in his role as Head of Communications at Design International, Rupert proved his abilities in this field through a long list of prestigious awards, which were won under his leadership.

This was made possible through Rupert's clear award strategy, which was reviewed yearly to ensure that potential new award opportunities were identified and the most suitable targeted, in line with the budget available for these activities.

Each entry was then coordinated by Rupert, who was personally responsible for entry concept, content and story structure, selection of material, copywriting of all text, as well as the layout and design of the final entry.

Events/Exhibition Management & Marketing
2009 - 2015

Rupert Jaeger has extensive experience in coordinating, managing and marketing of (trade) exhibitions, networking events and other industry events. During his time at Design International, the coordination of such events was an important responsibility of his role.

This included the yearly and longer term planning of the overall corporate events strategy, which was drawn up in close coordination with the company management. Taken into account were each event's role in achieving set business development objectives, as well keeping to agreed budgetary limits.

For each individual exhibition, Rupert's responsibility was the technical & organisational coordination, stand design coordination and all related PR & marketing activities.
